What does your Type of Guy say about you?

Hey, time for a new personality quiz! Enjoy it to the max!

The small decisions that we make, the things that we like and dream about, even the tastes that we enjoy, speak volumes about us. Our smallest preferences have surprisingly much to say about our personality. Often, these can reveal things we didn’t even suspect about ourselves—strengths, weaknesses, but particularly, what makes us special. If you’re anything like me, namely a Romance, Netflix and Hollywood lover,  let’s look at our type hero today.

Please take a deep breath, relax, look at the four pictures, and decide which one of these four categories of heroes appeals to you most. It’s very important that the decision you make is honest, and NOT thought through. So do not overthink it, let your decision come naturally, in no more than 10 seconds. Ready? Here we go : )

Interpretations:

Fae/Elf:

You have a love of beauty, which is only a mirror for what is inside you. Wait! Before you roll your eyes, know this—you’re more attractive to people than you think you are. The reason you don’t see it anymore is because someone or something stole it from you once, but that’s another story. You’re capable of a rare emotion—true admiration. When you love someone, you probably show it by doing things for them; it’s important to you to feel useful, and you usually become indispensible in the lives of those you care about. You quickly become deeply loved. You have a sweetness of heart that may lead some shady personalities to take advantage of you, but even they come to hang emotionally on you.

Vampire/Sexy Demon:

You’re one of intense passions. On the outside, you may seem calm and tame, but on the inside, you live dangerously. Your love can become obsession, but also addiction. You may be a fantastic kisser, and once you’ve got your special someone’s attention, you can become like a drug. You like intense people like yourself and, while there may be a dose of narcissism in there, it’s the good kind—you have tons to offer, and you know it. Love with you is a crazy ride of emotional stimulation. There’s no settling for a mediocre relationship for you, it’s ride or die.

Bad Boy/Mafia Boss:

Yes, it does mean the obvious, that you get your kicks from taming the bad boy, but it also means that you have the b***s to do it. You’re attracted to taming, because you got what it takes. You’re very sensual, and there’s no depth or darkness that you wouldn’t dare dive into. There’s no secret too dirty, nothing you will judge. Actually, you are wonderfully non-judgmental, even if doesn’t always look that way. Deep down, you do like to be controlled, and you might even enjoy some bondage. When you let go, enjoying your sexuality without caring what it looks like to your partner, you become hypnotizing to behold. He will come back for more.

Dark Billionaire:

Your choosing the billionaire doesn’t mean by far what some people would think. It does mean that you have a strong need for security, yes (because you most probably went through some serious sh*t in your life, stuff that most people can’t even imagine), but it also means you’re fiercely loyal, supportive even when there’s no hope left, and particularly comforting to be around. You’re a grateful person by nature, and have a sunny disposition despite a life story that could bring many to shudder. Rich life experience, people love talking to you and asking for your advice.

What do your Mirrors say about You?

Take a look at the mirror images, and decide which one you resonate best with. Please do not take more than 15 seconds to make your decision; it’s important that you make this decision with your subconscious rather than conscious mind, because it will ensure that you get the right result. So here we go:

Which of the following mirrors do you resonate best with?

Mirror2Mirror1Mirror6Mirror8

Interpretations:

Mirror 1

If you chose Mirror 1, you are a person of mystery, and your elusive secretive nature can often entice others. Your own depths can sometimes scare you, but they are like quickstand that can ignite others’ fantasies and curiosity. You may be a good listener, and talk rather little, unless you have a relationship of deep trust with the person. You can be magnetic and intriguiging, like the dark side of the moon. Others can see you like the forbidden fruit.

Mirror 2

If your choice is Mirror 2, you are deeply imaginative, and you can communicate in an engaging way. You have a beautiful inner world like a clear well that others long to drink from. You have a generally good disposition, and you’re naturally in love with life. If ever depressed, you tend to look for a way out instead of lingering in a state of discontent and talking endlessly about it. Yougive people joy, and they love having you in their lives. Pure-hearted and exuberant, you inspire people joy of life.

Mirror 3

If you resonate with Mirror 3 best, the you’re a rather realistic and logical person. You can keep a cool head even though you do have a rich inner life. You’re well-structured, and you’re inclined toweards building durable things. You’re not big on fleeting emotions and sensations. Inner life is more important than appearances, and you’re the type of person people can see as the perfect wife or husband. Your inner world is classy and elegant. You project the aura of a high-value, sometimes intellectual partner.

Mirror 4

If you’re drawn to Mirror 4, you’re a naturally inquisitve person. You have deep insights into the psychology of people, and your intuition leads you to discover old secrets and wounds that have long been buried. You may be a good detective, and almost impossible to fool. You may be highly intelligent, but also a  skeptic. You may often feel trapped in your own life, which can make you a difficult romantic partner, but there are people who feel attracted to that. It is advisable to refrain from working your inner demons through the person who loves you, even though they may often feel quite fascinated with you and your exquisite intellect.

Tell me your story, and I’ll tell you who you are – personality test

Tell me your Story, and I’ll tell you who you are. Looking forward to see what you get! As always, please take a look at the book descriptions below – at first there is no cover, no title, only the description of the book. You’ll discover title and cover at the end of the post, after you’ve gotten your interpretation.

Which of the stories described below do you feel resonates with you best? The titles will be revealed at the end, along with the interpretation of your choice – what it says about your hidden personality. Make sure you read the descriptions and make your choice before you scroll down to the interpretations, titles and covers. Enjoy!

  1. The Moonstone, a yellow diamond looted from an Indian temple and believed to bring bad luck to its owner, is bequeathed to Rachel Verinder on her eighteenth birthday. That very night the priceless stone is stolen again and when Sergeant Cuff is brought in to investigate the crime, he soon realizes that no one in Rachel’s household is above suspicion.
  2. A scientist creates a life, and is later horrified by what he has created. The tale begins with letters from Captain Walton as he journeys Northward to undiscovered lands. There, in the frozen wastelands of the North, Walton encounters scientist Victor and hears the strange sequence of events that lead the poor scientist doctor to those remote reaches of the earth. The Doctor’s tale is strange indeed, and explores the limitations of human knowledge while showing, through the fact that he’d created a monster, the way in which evil is created and how knowledge we’re unprepared for can destroy us.
  3. When Elizabeth Bennet first meets eligible bachelor Fitzwilliam Darcy, she thinks him arrogant and conceited; he is indifferent to her good looks and lively mind. When she later discovers that Darcy has involved himself in the troubled relationship between his friend Bingley and her beloved sister Jane, she is determined to dislike him more than ever. But will they be able to resist each other until the end?
  4. A journalist rewrites history to satisfy the demands of the Ministry of Truth. With each lie he writes, the journalist grows to hate the Party that seeks power for its own sake and persecutes those who dare to commit thought crimes. But as he starts to think for himself the journalist can’t escape the fact that Big Brother is always watching. . .
  5. Thrown in prison for a crime he has not committed, Edmond Dantes is confined to the grim fortress of If. There he learns of a great hoard of treasure hidden on the Isle of Monte Cristo and he becomes determined not only to escape, but also to unearth the treasure and use it to plot the destruction of the three men responsible for his incarceration.

Interpretations:

  1. Your mind is healthy, sharp, but you also possess the depth of the philosopher. A problem-solver while also a lover of good wine, so to say, you have a well-balanced take and outlook on life. Unbalancing you is hard to achieve, but you must be wary of the cunning.
  2. You have been plagued by a feeling of inadequacy. Often seeing yourself as an anomaly, often baffled by what you discover in your own depths, you have come to often fear yourself. You may feel you lack control over your inner life and even your actions. Fascinating, compelling, and emotionally dangerous.
  3. You need a positive outlook on life. While you’re sociable, a laugher, a strong shoulder and a rock of stability in the middle of the ocean, you’re not as unshakable as you seem. Positivity is as much a need of yours as it is your quality. You have wonderful energy, but you must beware of energy vampires. You’re a romantic and an idealist.
  4. You like to be well-informed, you gather the facts, and then you manufacture theories. You trust your sixth sense and your judgment because they’re based on true knowledge. Your keen gaze often penetrates the façade, and you might even have quite a temper. You may be feared and respected, but you must beware of powerful enemies.
  5. You’re an idealist to the marrow, a lover and a fighter and free spirit. You have a beautiful mind that begs to be discovered. People probably navigate to you because you are a “pleasant” person. You have modesty and intelligence. Beware, you might sometimes feel average and “invisible”.

Aaaand, time for revelations:

What does your Book say about you? – Personality Test

As promised, today we launch a new personality test project – What does your Book say about you? Please take a look at the book descriptions below – at first there is no cover, no title, only the description of the book. Which of the stories do you feel resonates with you best? The titles will be revealed at the end, along with the interpretation of your choice – what it says about your hidden personality. Make sure you read the descriptions and make your choice before you scroll down to the interpretations, titles and covers. Enjoy!

1.

A city slowly heals in the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War, and Daniel, an antiquarian book dealer’s son who mourns the loss of his mother, finds solace in a mysterious book entitled The Shadow of the Wind, by one Julián Carax. But when he sets out to find the author’s other works, he makes a shocking discovery: someone has been systematically destroying every copy of every book Carax has written. In fact, Daniel may have the last of Carax’s books in existence. Soon Daniel’s seemingly innocent quest opens a door into one of Barcelona’s darkest secrets–an epic story of murder, madness, and doomed love.

2.

The year is 1327. Franciscans in a wealthy Italian abbey are suspected of heresy, and Brother William of Baskerville arrives to investigate. When his delicate mission is suddenly overshadowed by seven bizarre deaths, Brother William turns detective. He collects evidence, deciphers secret symbols and coded manuscripts, and digs into the eerie labyrinth of the abbey where extraordinary things are happening under the over of night. Not only a suspenseful narrative of a murder investigation but an astonishing chronicle of the Middle Ages.

3.

Handsome, ambitious Julien Sorel is determined to rise above his humble provincial origins. Soon realizing that success can only be achieved by adopting the subtle code of hypocrisy by which society operates, he begins to achieve advancement through deceit and self-interest. His triumphant career takes him into the heart of glamorous Parisian society, along the way conquering the gentle, married Madame de Rênal, and the haughty Mathilde. But then Julien commits an unexpected, devastating crime—and brings about his own downfall. A story riddled with corruption, greed and ennui, told around Julien—the cold exploiter whose Machiavellian campaign is undercut by his own emotions.

4.

This story focuses on the mental anguish and moral dilemmas of Rodion Raskolnikov, an impoverished ex-student in St. Petersburg who formulates and executes a plan to kill an unscrupulous pawnbroker for her cash. Raskolnikov argues that with the pawnbroker’s money he can perform good deeds to counterbalance the crime, while ridding the world of a worthless vermin. He also commits this murder to test his own hypothesis that some people are naturally capable of such things, and even have the right to do them. Several times throughout the novel, Raskolnikov justifies his actions by connecting himself mentally with Napoleon Bonaparte, believing that murder is permissible in pursuit of a higher purpose…

5.

In eighteenth-century France there lived a man who was one of the most gifted and abominable personages in an era that knew no lack of gifted and abominable personages. His name was Jean-Baptiste Grenouille, and if his name has been forgotten today, it is certainly not because Grenouille fell short of those more famous blackguards when it came to arrogance, misanthropy, immorality, or, more succinctly, wickedness, but because his gifts and his sole ambition were restricted to a domain that leaves no traces in history: to the fleeting realm of scent . . .

Interpretations:

  1. You’re passionate, with heightened mental abilities, and the patience of a reptile. You can dive deeply into the subconscious mind, and you’re not easily intimidated. You understand human darkness, and you rarely judge. Beware of “probing” people automatically, they might be wary of it. You may give people the feeling you see through them, making them uncomfortable.
  2. You’re a natural intellectual, and you love solving mysteries. You have great logical thinking, and rarely tolerate nonsense – your impatience is tacit, though; you’re well-mannered more often than not, but when you’re blunt, you cut like a knife. Your forte is your intelligence, but you also have refined senses for art.
  3. You’re well-anchored in reality and society, and you always strive to keep a bird-eye view over the world around you. You might enjoy control, and you need a strong foundation under your feet. You have a balanced personality, and you’re no stranger to a sin or two. You have a healthy mind and a robust mental build that make you a skilled navigator of society.
  4. If there was a Robin Hood of the modern day, you would join his gang in a blink. On a second thought, you might pick up the reins and become Robin yourself. Your choice shows that your mind cuts through modern day’s appearances, right to what you feel is a rotten core. You see a corrupt system that needs to burn from the roots, even though you might not always say it out loud. Your mental life is profound, and you’re no stranger to depression.
  5. You’re a natural profiler. A good listener and therefore a good judge of character, there are few things that can throw you off balance. For the most part your gut instinct is spot on. You have your many years of observation to thank for that. You may be wrong once or twice though, and you may lose your balance for a bit. If that happens, just remember that any exception only strengthens the rule.

Titles: 1. Your book is “The Shadow of the Wind” by Carlos Luis Zafon.

Titles: 2. Your book is “The Name of the Rose” by Umberto Eco

Titles: 3. Your book is “The Red and the Black” by Stendhal

Titles: 4. Your book is “Crime and Punishment” by Fyodor Dostoyevsky

Titles: 5. Your book is “Perfume” by Patrick Süskind

What does your Tarot Card say about you?

Important areas connected to the psychology of love that I so love diving into (and from which my romance novels have been born) are symbolism, occultism and astrology. Based on them I created personality tests that will bring you closer to discovering yourself as a lover – not only how you love but also how you’re loved in return. This personality test will reveal something about the kind of love you ignite in others. Please read the question below and the five possible answers. As always, try to make your choice in a relaxed state, and from the gut. Send the neo-cortex on a break, and dive into your subconscious.

Which of the following objects would you choose if they were presented to you on a tray under the moonlight?

  1. An ancient scroll
  2. A silver cross
  3. A black and golden star
  4. A scepter
  5. A lily

Interpretation:

  1. You’re a Magician. You have more power than you imagine. A fascinating mind, a knower of the heart and an alchemist lie at the core of your personality. You have the ability to manipulate energy. While you cannot influence specific people, your aura of power and wisdom will attract attention.
  2. You’re a High Priest/ess. Psychic, secretive and influential, your powers are subversive and relentless. You can connect to your love interest on deep levels and, with the right experience and training, even cause dreams and an inescapable telepathic connection. But for everything there’s a price. Use your talents well.
  3. You’re Death. Yours is a demanding, transformational and consuming type of love. The kind of love you ignite in others is addictive, dark, draining and, while the intensity is through the roof and you have the power to make yourself unforgettable, chances are your love interest will run for their lives and burn the bridges behind them. You’re Joe Black.
  4. You’re an Empress/Emperor. You’re the very embodiment of femininity/masculinity. Fertility/Authority is what you inspire, and you’re likely to be considered perfect marriage material. Mature, reliable, nurturing and protective/loving, the kind of love you inspire is the committed kind. It may well be that, if your love interest doesn’t feel ready for a committed relationship at the moment, they won’t give in to your charms.
  5. You’re a Lover (the Lovers card). You embody temptation, sweetness, the scent of infinity and perfection wafting over from the sea. You offer and inspire devotion, and you hold the promise of healing. You’re the lover where a love interest will find healing. You’re the person whose skin smells like home, but the way to that may be paved with great challenges.

What do your Unrequited Loves say about you?

If even the smallest thing can say a ton about our personalities, then imagine what something as big as Love can reveal. This is the first of many posts that will focus on what our Love says about us. As always, I’m going to ask you to take a look at the quotes below, and choose the one that rings closest to your heart. It’s going to reveal something about the way you love, and even about how you’re loved in return.

  1. “Love is never lost, even if it’s unrequited. It returns to you and tames and cleanses your heart.” Washington Irving
  2. “I prefer a lost love to a love I never had.” Mircea Eliade
  3. “No man who loves should be called unhappy. Even unrequited love has its own rainbow.” James Matthew Barrie
  4. “Friendship is definitely the best cure against the disappointments of love.” Jane Austen
  5. “The fact that you love someone doesn’t mean they have to be yours. Love isn’t a bandage to cover your wounds.” Hugh Elliot

Interpretations:

  1. You have a gift to see the best in almost any situation. Your love is dedicated and often selfless, but also quiet. Beware of that. Some people fail to recognize worth unless you scream it.
  2. Your love is bold, daring, it uncovers its chest and invites the dagger. Passionate and profound, your wounds probably won’t stop you making the same mistake again and again. Your love is intense and addictive.
  3. You’re much calmer in retrospect than you are in the moment of heartbreak. You are a person who focuses on learning, growth and healing. In old age you’ll probably boast a lot of wisdom.
  4. You have a strong sense of self-preservation. Discerning and grounded, your love can be powerful, but almost always less important than reason. In your youth you maybe be/have been easier to intimidate or fool, but this is not the case in older years.
  5. Your love is heavy, serious and committed. But your sharp wit is the hell of a bouncer, so it’s very hard for someone to get in. You’re a fine judge of feelings (and maybe also character). You spot “faulted” loves from afar – co-dependency, Oedipus complex gone wrong, there’s no fooling you. You may be an intimidating lover.

Enjoyed this? Plenty more where it came from, so stay tuned. Until then, search the site for a whole lot of goodies from personality tests to hot love psychology and suspenseful forbidden love stories. 9 things you didn’t know about the psychology of love

There are special advantages to writing forbidden love romance – you learn secrets about the psychology of love. Here are a few gems I really wanted to share with you. And hey – plenty more where these came from.

  1. It takes less than 4 minutes to decide whether you’re into someone or not. In these 4 minutes your subconscious mind makes the decision based on the person’s physical appearance and non-verbal language.
  2. The effect that love has on the brain is similar to the effect of cocaine. Love causes the same kind of thrill, and the same kind of euphoria.
  3. When two lovers look into each other’s eyes, their hearts start beating in the same rhythm.
  4. Only looking at the picture of a loved one relieves pain – the lover’s face may act like a painkiller.
  5. Equally attractive people have higher chances at a balanced relationship. The same goes for equality on all levels. The more levels you and your partner are equal on, the more likely it is for your relationship to be successful.
  6. Apparently the brain isn’t wired to feel attracted to body shapes. It’s always the face that pushes the button. This basically means that an attractive body isn’t as important in attracting a partner as society lets us feel.
  7. The butterflies in your stomach are caused by adrenaline. When you feel the butterflies of infatuation, you’re in the fight or flight mode typical for dangerous situations.
  8. When you feel attracted to someone, your pupils dilate.
  9. Psychologists and researchers have discovered that people’s lives, goals and very existence revolve only around love.

Enjoyed this? Stay tuned for more soon, and feel free to roam the site for a whole lot of goodies from personality tests to hot psychology facts and suspenseful forbidden love stories. I’d love to hear from you, so feel free to leave me your ideas and opinions in a comment. I’m all about the discussion at the end of the game : )

What does your type of Romance say about you as a lover?

Did you know that the type of romance you prefer (whether in fiction or in your own fantasy) says a whole lot about you? Read on and discover how much a simple preference can reveal. You don’t have to be an avid romance reader in order to take this test; it’s enough to make your pick by comparison. All you have to do is read the five choices below, and decide which one entices you more. After you’ve made your decision – as always, try to go with your gut, not your conscious mind – go on to the interpretations. You might be surprised what you’ll find . . .

Which of these taglines would you feel more attracted to if you saw them on a book?

  1. Forbidden fruit romance
  2. Bad Boy/girl next door (or) Bad Girl/boy next door romance
  3. Friends to lovers romance (romantic comedy)
  4. Protector romance
  5. Enemies to lovers romance

Interpretations:

  1. You’re capable of the deepest passion. Probably Scorpionic in nature, you’re fascinating and compelling, but you pull your lover in like quicksand. There’s a flip side to the emotional highs that you offer – you’re obsessive, possessive, and demanding. Jealousy may be an issue.
  2. Your love is nurturing and healing, and you’re capable of the deepest sacrifice. While you’re a real balm for a lover, soothing and sweet, you’re in danger of making a martyr of yourself. You may need to nurture your self-esteem more.
  3. Your love is real fuel; engaging, optimistic and fun, you’re a wonderful lover to freedom-loving spirits; not many people are capable of the trust you offer, which makes you a comfortable partner even for the most difficult personalities. Beware of taking things too lightly, though.
  4. You’re delicate and sometimes fragile; your vulnerability is often attractive and pulls in the “savior” kind of partners; you’re profound and interesting, but you must beware of attracting predators; abusers often disguise themselves as over-protectors.
  5. You have a strong personality, are probably opinionated, and you may often polarize; maybe you haven’t always had the best of luck in love. But once unlocked, your passion is true fire, Mars on steroids. Your love is rewarding. Beware of becoming a drama queen now and then, though.

Enjoyed this? Plenty more where it came from. Check out the Personality Tests section on the site for many more personality tests, or scroll down to older posts for HOT psychology facts and personality quizzes. Also, please don’t forget that I always love hearing from you. Tell me what you got on this one. Do you like it forbidden, bad or friendly? Personality tests and fiction – what do Freud and Superman have in common?

This article is scheduled to appear on a friend-site next week as a guest post, but I thought I’d share it first with you, my readers and friends, who’ve been with me for a while now. It’s the backstory of the personality tests on this site, and of how they fuel my fiction.

While I am a writer of romantic suspense and mystery before anything else, I base my stories on accumulated knowledge of psychology and pharma (with which I have close contact through my work as a science translator). In my fiction I combine learned facts with imagination. My stories are mainly about talents becoming superpowers, and humans turning superhuman, but instead of going the beaten path of genetic engineering, my heroes go psych. What that means, exactly, and how is that related to the personality tests?

Well, the theory goes like this – humans are born with limitless potential; it’s the education we receive from family and society that limits us in time, that programs our minds; they teach us, for example, “we all have to die one day.” But do we? My fiction dares to question this universal truth, among other things. In my stories, unlocking the full human potential in order to make a character superhuman is a superpower in itself that requires great psychological finesse. But in real life I explore the human mind through personality tests that help readers discover who they are at the core, step by step. What is unique about you? What is your special talent (that may become a superpower, given the proper guidance)? Sure, you may be a wonderful but hopeless singer, thinking you share this talent with many others, but what you don’t know is that your voice has a unique vibration that no one else can produce. What does that vibration mean? And the questions can go on and on and on. Not to mention they can fuel countless stories.

While an in-depth personal profile or personal guidance is needed in order to answer the more exact questions, the personality tests on www.ana-calin.com will lead you step by step to discover the dark corners of your own mind. A while back I did a personal profile on a reader who became a close friend of mine, and I based my short story “Hyperion” on his alter ego – I’m waving at you, cuzz : ) The story is available here, if you’re ever curious. As for the personality tests, feel free to roam www.ana-calin.com for them, they’re free and some interactive. This is one of my favorites. Enjoy everything the site has to offer, and feel free to leave me a comment or write to me, if you like. You can find me on the blog, but also on Facebook and Twitter. If you have suggestions or would like to see personality tests with certain themes, by all means, I’d love to hear about it.

What does your Shadow say about you? – Personality Test

Welcome to a new personality test that will help you explore yet further the depths of your psyche. Today we have a special treat. The word “shadow” is a powerful one in psychology, and the associations we make to it say a lot about who we are – or fear to be. So, as always, I’ll ask you to please take a look at the book titles (or potential book titles) below, and decide which one would best suit a book in which you’d play the protagonist! As always, please try to enter a relaxed state of mind, in which you can feel rather than make your decision.

  1. Silver Shadow
  2. The Shadow Prince/ess
  3. Beyond the Shadow
  4. The Shadow God
  5. The Name of the Shadow

Interpretations:

  1. Your demons are in the open. You don’t really fear them, nor do you find them ugly. You may be quite comfortable with your dark side. Saying you wear your heart on your sleeve may be a bit overboard, but you’re a sincere personality.
  2. You know you have valuable strengths. Ambition and confidence are words that define you. You may be somewhat manipulative when you deem it necessary, and you don’t really feel bad about it either.
  3. You’re an explorer – especially of your own soul and those you care about. You may be a good “therapist” kind of friend. Beware of energy vampires – some people are all about complaining and poison, and may abuse your powers and kindness.
  4. You feel the human being has limitless potential. Deep down you believe in the divine character of humans, and you’re willing to start on the tough journey of discovering and unlocking. You may feel that humans are descendants of gods.
  5. You’re extremely profound. You may have a love of reading, with special interest in philosophy and mythology. For many people you’re a delight to talk to, and quite fascinating. You’re mysterious and maybe compelling.

I’m cat-curious what you got, so please leave a comment with your choice if you feel comfortable sharing. For more hot psychology and mystery subscribe to this blog and follow me on Twitter and Facebook. You can always check out the Personality Tests section on this site (above) or scroll down the older posts. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Shocking Psychology Facts

Here is another top 5 Shocking Psychology Facts! And we’ll keep them coming, folks 🙂

  1. Critique harms more than it helps. Even a perfectionist will be caused to under perform if they’re criticized. There is no such thing as “constructive criticism.” If we are to criticize, we should start with praise, continue with our points of critique, and conclude with further praise.
  2. The bystander effect. When people are uncertain, they do what they see others doing, thinking that if others do it, it must be the right thing. That’s why people often stand around and watch other people being mugged or beaten – it’s often not fear, but self-doubt, mistrust in the own perception, which causes them to do what they see others do around them.
  3. People tend to be more honest when they feel someone is watching them, even if it’s only a picture on a wall.
  4. Depression doesn’t only affect the mind, but also the body. Studies show that “severe” depression causes cells to age, and makes people more susceptible to age-related disease.
  5. There is little difference between being in love and having obsessive-compulsive disorder. The biochemical reactions are almost identical.

Personality Test – What do your Villain Statements say about you?

Now we’re down to the nitty-gritty! What does the villain in you say about your personality? Take this personality test to find out. Just like in the other personality tests before this one, take a look at the statements below and decide which one of them appeals to you most. Just like last time, try to base your decision on what your gut tells you rather than your mind. Ready? Here we go.

  1. „Villains often come with pretty faces.“
  2. “I might be the villain of my own story.”
  3. “There are only two kinds of people in the world: villains and smiling villains.”
  4. “If you have a gun, you can rob a bank. But if you have a bank, you can rob everyone.”
  5. “The question isn’t, ‘who is going to let me?’; it’s, “who’s going to stop me.”

Interpretations:

  1. You often felt hurt by the people you desired and admired; your experience makes you one of the few who can resist an abuser who uses charm to manipulate; you’re a mentalist, a people-reader, and should often be feared.
  2. You’ve often been standing in your own way; you might have inner programming that hinders you in either your professional field or your love life; or maybe both; you might be too profound for your own good and fail to desire the things society tells you that you should want.
  3. You have trust issues; there’s no one you can really call your best friend, which makes you a dangerous person quite often; you’re often intriguing for other people like a viper with sparkling scales.
  4. You understand what’s happening around you, and you’re often sick to have to be part of the system; you’re rebellious, often bitter, but very articulate; you often have an influence in your circle.
  5. You pursue success at all costs; you’re not a person of many scruples, nor are you willing to compromise; you might do it, but only temporarily and with the thought of revenge; you’re determined and focused; a force for good or evil, it’s only a matter of choice.

So what did you get? I’d love to find out, so please leave a comment with your choice if you care to share. Check out the many personality tests in the Personality Tests section above, or by scrolling down the Older Posts on the Home page. Looking forward to reading from you!

What does your Philosophy Quote say about you?

What does your chosen philosophy quote say about you? Take this personality test to find out! As so often before, I’m going to ask you to take a look at the quotes below, go in a relaxed state, and decide which one appeals to you most of the five. Try not to decide on it mentally, but rather feel your choice.

  1. “Knowledge is power.” – Francis Bacon
  2. “Beauty is in the heart of the beholder.” – David Hume
  3. “And after all, what is a lie? But truth in masquerade.” – Lord Byron
  4. “An idiot doesn’t say many smart things, but a genius can talk a lot of nonsense.” – Garabet Ibraileanu
  5. “The heart has reasons that reason knows nothing of.” – Blaise Pascal

Interpretations:

  1. Your choice shows a powerful mind, an intellectual; reason is stronger than emotion more often than not; the mind and the heart struggle  with each other, and the mind always wins.
  2. Your choice shows a beautiful mind and kind heart; your innermost mood is generally sunny, you’re good natured and a gem in other people’s lives; altruistic and positive, you can be a well of good energy.
  3. You’re complex and contradicting, your soul goes to dizzying highs but also to abyssal lows; you’re painfully honest to yourself and you can wield a good choice of words.
  4. You don’t take anything for granted; you have an analytical mind, and you may often get hit by a “bird-eye” vision of the world in which everything seems strange or artificial.
  5. This may come as a complete surprise to you, but you have a mathematical mind; your reason is strong, even though you’re an emotional, nurturing person; your feelings are rooted and reliable; you’re realistic and grounded.

So what did you get? I’d love to read from you, so feel free to leave me a comment with your choice. Feel just as free to check out the many available personality tests in the Personality Tests section above, or by scrolling down the Older Posts on the Home page.
